Amber was born and raised in De Soto, Texas and is the youngest of three girls. She graduated from DeSoto High School in 2005. She started her career with animals when she took a job at the SPCA, where she worked for 6 months. There, she rescued a sick German shepherd puppy that came to be known as Kujo. Amber and Kujo live together with Amber's fiancé, Chris, 8 cats, and 3 other dogs, including Marilyn, a 2-year-old Chihuahua who personifies her namesake. A more recent addition is Ace, a kitten left at the clinic doorstep when he was just 10 days old; he has since blossomed with his new mother into a handsome shorthair with smokey stripes.

Chris and Amber enjoy spending time at the lake with their dogs or golfing (without the dogs). They hope to live in Ireland someday.
